Tax management system

The Tax Management System is the core operational system of the tax sector. Developed in 1998, the system was implemented in all provincial tax offices in Vietnam by January 1999. The tax management system has been continually updated to keep up with the many changes in the tax laws and meet the business requirements of the tax sector.

  • Processes tax declarations and tax clearances.
  • Processes decisions related to taxpayers regarding fines, tax assessment, tax returns, and tax return withdrawal.
  • Processes documents: manages information on taxes paid, determines remaining taxes payable, etc.
  • Processes temporary tax collection and sequestration: manages and monitors taxpayer obligations regarding overdue taxes or handling of temporarily held taxes.
  • Monitors taxpayer payments.
  • Produces itemized accounting statements on amounts received and payable.
  • Exchanges data with tax offices at different levels and with units of the taxation sector that require such data.
  • Manages tax documentation received from and send to taxpayers.

  • The system assists tax officers with supervision and speeds up the tax declaration process; manages taxpayer information on taxes payable and paid to facilitate debt collection.

  • General Department of Taxation and tax offices in 63 provinces across Vietnam.
